Breaking Down Barriers

Breaking Down Barriers: The C.R. Roberts story is a timely story about C.R. Roberts, a civil rights pioneer who was born in Mississippi in 1936 and grew up in Oceanside, California prior to attending the University of Southern California as a star athlete in the 1950s. This documentary explores the beginning of the civil rights movement through the viewpoint of a little known civil rights pioneer, who continues to bring people of all colors and races together

Immediately following the screening will be a party at Buffalo Wild Wings (right next door to the Burbank AMC 16 Theatres), to watch the USC vs Stanford football game. This is a private event and your screening ticket will grant you free entry.

F.R.E.D.I.

7:00pm - 8:30pm

An intelligent, lovable robot known as "F.R.E.D.I." is stolen from a secret research facility by the projects lead scientist. The robot is found by a 15 year old teenager, James. Soon the two begin to communicate and create a bond in which F.R.E.D.I. learns about teenage life and James learns about some new values.

This (family friendly) Sci-fi/Adventure stars Angus Mcfadyen ("Braveheart"), Kelly Hu ("The Orville"), Lucius Hoyos ("Heroes Reborn"), Candace Cameron Bure ("Fuller House"), Reid Miller ("Training Day"), Tyler Christopher ("Days Of Our Lives"), Texas Battle ("The Bold & The Beautiful") and Casimere Jolette ("Code Black").

The Burbank International Film Festival is is excited to honor the 50th Anniversary of the Stanley Kubrick groundbreaking science fiction classic 2001: A Space Odyssey with a Q&A Panel with one of the films stars Gary Lockwood (Dr. Frank Poole) in person. Following the Panel, Gary will be signing autographs and photos at the Galactic Sci-fi Party at the IATSE Soundstage as part of our Night of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror.

Gary Lockwood is also known for playing Lt. Cmdr. Gary Mitchell in the original Star Trek pilot "Where No man Has Gone Before".
