DELEYAMAN TO MAKE LOS ANGELES DEBUT AT THE HERBERT ZIPPER CONCERT HALL ON FRIDAY, MAY 2, 2008.

Paris January 31, 2008 - Deleyaman will make their L.A. debut on May 2 at the Herbert Zipper Concert Hall in Downtown, Los Angeles.

This four member band from Europe has released three albums to date while creating a unique and mysterious sound which is heartbreakingly sincere and effortlessly beautiful. Their music is impossible to pigeon hole and probably in a genre of its own. The use of otherwordly instruments like the armenian duduk, the saz or the def alongside contemporary electronic instruments constitute a major part of Deleyaman's music.

The vocals sometime sound like prayers or incantations and are sung in english, armenian, swedish and french. Deleyaman's ethereal and atmospheric soundscapes often rock the listener into a blissful state of reverie.

The critics are unanimous in praising their daring and unusual sound which is a blend of old and new, east and west, acoustic and electronic.

Deleyaman is comprised of Aret Madilian, Beatrice Valantin, Gerard Madilian and Mia Bjorlingsson. Formed in Normandy, France the band bears an originality in that all four members are of different cultures and backgrounds (armenian, american, french, swedish). During the fall of 2000, the initial band of three members recorded their first album in a house located in a coastal rural village of Normandy. In the spring of 2001 Nech Records, an independent label based in Paris signed Deleyaman to its small eclectic roster and released their debut album in the fall of that same year. Few months later Mia Björlingsson, a swedish expatriate and a drummer living in the same normand village joined the band to complete the line up. The following album entitled "Second" further defined the band's unique sound and was released in september 2003. The latest Deleyaman album to date is entitled "3".

Deleyaman's performance at the Herbert Zipper Concert Hall offers an opportunity to see and hear this unique band's first live appearance in Los Angeles.
