About Lilit Pipoyan

Born into an artistic family in Yerevan, Lilit Pipoyan began her musical education at an early age. After pursuing architecture and earning a PhD in the Theory and History of Armenian Architecture, she returned to her first passion - music - and developed a distinctive artistic language of her own.

Pipoyan is one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary Armenian music. Her work moves beyond traditional boundaries, bringing together Armenian poetry, folklore, medieval secular songs, and contemporary musical arrangements.

Her compositions breathe new life into centuries-old Armenian melodies, sometimes reconstructing or creating new melodies where the originals have been lost. Guitar, piano, and a rich variety of string instruments come together to create a sound that is deeply rooted in Armenian heritage while remaining distinctly contemporary.

For decades, Lilit Pipoyan has performed for audiences around the world, bringing her unique interpretation of Armenian music to renowned concert halls and cultural stages internationally.
