Set in the year 1595, Something Rotten! tells the story of the Bottom Brothers, Nick & Nigel, who struggle to find success in the theatrical world as they compete with the wild popularity of their contemporary, William Shakespeare. When a local soothsayer foretells that the future of theater involves singing, dancing, and acting at the same time, Nick & Nigel set out to write the world's first musical.
