Liz Mitchell, the lead singer of Boney M, was born in Jamaica and came to England at the age of eleven. When asked how she felt about the move from Jamaica to England she said, 'In my daydreams I saw beautiful big white houses with perfect green lawns and trees that were green and shaded, as it was in Jamaica. But arriving in England I was deeply disappointed; everything was grey, foggy and wet!'
Famous for her work with the disco group Boney M, this dance, pop, and soul vocalist also released such solo albums as No One Will Force You and Share the World.
She also briefly belonged to a group called Malcolm Locks that released a 1974 album titled Caribbean Rocks In the late 1960s, she performed in a German stage production of the musical Hair, replacing the Grammy-winning African-American singer Donna Summer in the starring role. Though known primarily as a singer, she also occasionally wrote songs for Boney M, including the 1981 hit "African Moon" (from the group's Boonoonoonoos album).

The latter have included the “Bambi”, the “Goldene Europa”, the “Goldene Kamera”, the “ECHO”, the “World Music Award”, the Golden and Silver “Bravo-Otto”, the “Golden Lion” from Radio Luxembourg and many more besides.

Thomas Barbèy grew up in Geneva, Switzerland, across the street from the “Caran D'ache” factory, the largest manufacturer of art supplies. He started drawing seriously at the age of 13, using black “encre de Chine” and gouaches for color. His influences were Philippe Druillet, Roger Dean and H.R. Giger. After living in Geneva for 17 years and designing posters for musical bands, he decided to move to Italy, where he lived in Milan for 15 years making a living as a successful recording artist, lyricist and fashion photographer.
In 1980, he moved to Italy, where he was discovered by Italian producers. His first hit was "Flip Over", b/w the track "We Can Start It All Over Again". He had his first major success in 1986 with "Looking for Love". His later work included collaborations with several other artists and producers, including Eddy Huntington, for whom he provided several lyrics, including those for the Europe-wide hit "USSR".
