Los Tucanes De Tijuana are a Mexican norteño band led by Mario Quintero Lara. The band was founded in Tijuana, Baja California in 1987. They, along with Los Tigres del Norte, were pioneers in playing their music in a rougher manner as opposed to the traditional norteño music of northeastern Mexico; subsequently influencing many other norteño artists from Mexico’s pacific states and giving that region of the country its signature norteño sound. During their career, Los Tucanes de Tijuana have garnered several awards and recognitions, including a Latin Grammy in 2012 for the album 365 días, five Grammy Award nominations, nine Lo Nuestro Awards nominations and multiple BMI Awards for Quintero as a composer. They are the first norteño music band to obtain an international film award by winning the Un Certain Regard Angel Film award at the Monaco International Film Festival for their participation in the documentary Los ilegales. In 2008, the group received a star on the Las Vegas Walk of Fame.
In 2019 they became the first regional Mexican music group to perform at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, held in Indio, California, and have also participated in important musical events in their native country and in other territories like Vive Latino and Pa'l Norte festivals. They have sold more than 25 million albums worldwide and have obtained 34 gold and 30 platinum records. Songs from their repertoire like "La chona", "El tucanazo", "La chica sexy", "Vivir de noche" and "El centenario" are popular on radio stations and music platforms, and some of their record productions have made it onto some charts in the United States. .

Opening Acts

Voz de Mando

With a success rarely seen in a relatively new group, Voz De Mando is starting to capture the attention of media specialized in regional Mexican music, as well as the organizers of major awards ceremonies in both Mexico and the United States. Voz De Mando emerged in 2009 with a highly original musical proposal, fusing authentic northern music with the sound of the tuba, a fundamental instrument in banda sinaloense music. Their rhythm, accompanied by successful songs, sometimes romantic and other times more spirited, but always with a distinctive style of their own, has made them a significant success within the regional Mexican genre today. This achievement is widely recognized by music industry experts, but most importantly, by the audience who appreciates this music. Unlike other artists, they started by producing their own music, as Jorge had his own studio. They recorded their song "500 balazos" or "Comandos del MP," which quickly became an internet sensation thanks to the musical promotion on My Space at that time. People downloaded the song, created their own videos with the music, and those slide shows amassed millions of views for that song.

Luis Coronel

Former boxer Luis Coronel is an exceptionally successful singer of romantic regional Mexican music with a decidedly modern urban presentation. His narrative videos, as well as his singles and albums have transcended genre limitations and appeal to a large cross section of Latin pop fans. Born in Tucson, Arizona to Mexican parents, Coronel began singing in church choirs at the age of six. In his teens, he became a boxer. After a match he sang a song from the ring; the performance was videotaped. He uploaded the video to YouTube and his life seemed to change almost overnight as it spread virally. Coronel soon gave up boxing to focus on music. He began uploading videos of his songs to YouTube and Facebook. His growing list of followers on social networks attracted the attention of Del Records, who signed him at the age of 16. His YouTube videos have been viewed over a million times, while his Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram followers number in the hundreds of thousands, counting no less than singer Luis Ortiz among his fans. Coronel has posted a number of his singles on the charts, including "Mi Niña Traviesa," "Será Mas Fácil," and "Escápate." His debut album, Con la Frente en Alto, was released in September of 2013, and reached the top spot on Billboard's Regional Mexican Albums chart within three weeks of release. Quiero Ser Tu Dueño followed just one year later, hitting number one on the Top Latin Albums chart and becoming his first to reach the Top 40 of the main album charts. At 2016's Premio Lo Nuestro he was awarded Regional Mexican Album of the Year and Regional Mexican Male Artist of the Year. With a full schedule of appearances across the globe, Coronel found time to reenter the studio, insisting on choosing all the material for his next album. The pre-release singles "Dime Qué Se Siente" and "Ral Como Eres" peaked at 23 and 45, respectively. The full-length Ahora Soy Yo was released in October 2017, and Coronel debuted at number one on Latin Albums Sales, Regional Mexican Albums, and at number two on Top Latin Album charts.
